A Few Resolutions.
2010 was pretty great…but I think 2011 will be even better. Here’s a few resolutions to (try to) stick by. 1. Balance a checkbook. 2. Focus on the positive, not the negative…on the opportunities, not the consequences. 3. Work hard, play hard, love hardest. 4. Patience. 5. Re-start Weight Watchers and lose/maintain some of the first-job-stress weight! 6. Start faithfully...

Home.
Woke up in my old bed, in my room…with all the presents my dad bought my mom hiding in my closet, waiting for me to wrap them (some things really never change.) Went out with the fam to a new Mexican place in our town…and got so drunk off two (two!) margaritas that I put my jacket on inside out before stumbling out of the restaurant. But seriously…they were huge. And strong. ...

20 Great Things I Did in 2010
Inspired by Emily’s post, here are the 20 Great Things I Did in 2010. 2011, you’ve got a lot to live up to…but I have a feeling you won’t disappoint : ) 1. Graduate! 2. Write my thesis…my 120-page blood, sweat, and years (mostly tears) memoir-thesis.  3. Fall in love for the first time. 4. Snag Boyfriend and convince him to love me back. 5. Get my first...

Confession
The phone jack falls out really easily at my desk at work…and some days, when I notice it’s fallen out again, I don’t put it back in.

Big News, Tumblr.
…I have a new job!!! I don’t start until March, but that’s perfect to ease out of here and into there. It’s in my field, seems amazing, ridiculous benefits, and the perfect opportunity to try something new and make myself a little happier. It fell into my lap and feels like fate, as Boyfriend said this morning. Also came right after I read this and was completely inspired...

So my coworker, the other intern, is currently bragging to everyone that he’s leaving for Christmas ON SUNDAY (yes, this Sunday) because as he told our boss, it’s his only way home because he doesn’t have a car. Only partially true…and then when someone asked me how I was getting home and I told them I was driving home on Christmas Eve, he called me “uppity”...

Adapting to Change: There is an ancient golf course outside Calcutta, the story goes, where monkeys constantly disrupt the game by picking up the balls. Fences were no use containing the animals, relocating them didn’t work, so eventually people adapted to the circumstances (hence the quote above). (via Huffington Post article)
